Here at MALC, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive Centre for every individual, regardless of abilities or needs, where they can fully enjoy our facilities. Our accessibility features, make our pools, courts, and gym spaces welcoming and accessible to everyone, including those with injuries or disabilities. We believe MALC is a space where every member of the community can thrive and enjoy their fitness journey.

Changing Rooms and Courts Accessibility 

  • Three accessible changing rooms with duress alert alarms.
  • Accessible toilets near Court 3.
  • Changing rooms strategically placed in Aquatics and Courts areas.
  • Access to a mobile hoist (Weight limit: 205kg) and a mobile adjustable bed (Not for showering).

Hydrotherapy Pool

  • Ramp entry with a handrail.
  • Water wheelchairs with a weight limit of 200kg.
  • Hydrotherapy pool at 34 degrees with varying depths.
  • In-water seat with massaging jet outlets.
  • Seat hoist available (Weight limit: 180kg).

Leisure Pool

  • Zero-depth beach entry.
  • Temperature ranges from 31-32 degrees.

Lap Pool

  • 28-degree, 8-lane 25m lap pool.
  • Depth ranges from 1.1m to 1.65m.
  • Seated hoist to lift patrons into the side lane (Weight limit: 180kg).

Fitness Centre

  • Auto door access.
  • Equipment supporting individuals with injuries or physical limitations.
  • Specialised programs for older demographics and personalised training programs.

Sports Courts

  • Ramped access to court level.
  • Accessible toilet/change facilities.

Swimming Lessons

  • One on one/ one on two private lessons.
  • Varied skills and qualifications of teachers.
  • Check with the Swim School for teacher availability.

Accessible Parking

  • 3 ACROD parking bays.
  • Ramped entry with a handrail.

Wheelchair, Walker and Gophers

  • Wheelchair (dry) available for patron transport.
  • Shared walker for patron use.
  • Limited access for gophers to public areas only.

Assistance Animals

  • Support for bringing assistance animals.
  • Animals not permitted in the pools but allowed in the pool hall area.

Companion Cards Holders

  • Entry for companions in the same activity at no charge.
  • Completion of relevant documentation required.
  • Companions not eligible for 24/7 gym access without induction.

Physiotherapists

  • Free entry for accompanying physiotherapists.

Feedback
